1st June 2008

This years event is now closed but register your interest for next year!

Location:San Diego USA

We arrived in San Diego to a warm climate and everyone loving the Bra T-shirts. We went straight to the hotel to get our heads down and start to adjust to the time difference.

Day One

We grabbed a taxi down to the Expo centre and walked to find a great American café for coffee and pancakes. With our Tummy’s full we headed to register for the marathon. We were greeted by many friendly faces as we received our race number, chip, T-shirt and goody bag. We spent the rest of the morning walking around the fitness show….of course purchasing our Rock ‘n’ Roll souvenirs and we got a glance at the finishing medal. We headed back to the hotel for a soak in the hot tub before hitting the shops at Fashion Valley.

Day Two

We enjoyed a lazy morning before catching up with our family from Long Beach at Old Down Town, San Diego to enjoy a Mexican meal. We headed back to the hotel for an early night before the Big Day!

Day Three

We were up at 4am for a quick breakfast and a banana on the go. Arrived at the marathon start where we were able to grab coffee, water, bagels and fruit. There were so many portaloos! We pinned on our numbers and after watching the Royal Marine Band and having our photo’s taken with lots of “Elvis’s” made our way to the start line

Then we were off!!!!!! 26.2 miles of enjoyable bands, lots of water, energy drinks, fruit stops and toilets….as well as enthusiastic supporters shouting for the Bra Girls. We crossed the finish line to receive the biggest medal we’ve ever had, a cold flannel, cold beer and even free flip flops – so we donated our trainers to Soles 4 Soles.

We headed back to the hotel for a cool swim and a well deserved relax in the hot tub.

The next day we flew home of course wearing our marathon T-shirts and our medals!
