In all cases we will endeavor to send the bra size that you have requested but please do make sure that you order the right size as no exchanges will be possible.

Top 5 tips for checking if you have a good fitting bra

Make sure that you get yourself measured! 8 out of 10 women in the UK are wearing the wrong sized bra. Wonderbra, The Official Bra Sponsor of Walk the Walk recommend visiting Debenhams, House of Fraser or John Lewis and getting a proper fitting, before you choose your bra for the challenge

1.      A common mistake is to wear a bra that is too big in the back and too small in the cup.  The back strap should fit firmly and securely around your ribcage and be level all the way around. If the strap is riding up at the back, you need to try a smaller back size.

2.      Your breast should be fully contained in the cup – even if you are wearing a lower cut style like a balconnet or a push up.   If it’s bulging over the top (double boob effect) out at the sides or falling out underneath you need to try a larger cup size.

3.      The underwire should fit against your body and not the breast tissue

4.      The centre gore (that’s the bit in the centre of the bra) should sit flat against your breastbone.

5.      And finally the shoulder straps should be adjusted every time you put your bra on to ensure good fit and support.   The straps shouldn’t be digging in to your shoulders and leaving dents – this means you haven’t got a good fit and your bra isn’t supporting you properly around your ribcage.

What T shirts are available?

Prior to the challenge you will be sent your Final Pack which will include your fantastic short-sleeved bra T shirt! On the entry form, the following sizes are available.

Tight Fit    Loose Fit
 Small8/10      Medium 14
 Medium 10/12  Large 16
 Large 12/14  XL 18
 XL 14/16  XXL 20
 XXL 18  XXXL 22

Please note that the loose fit T shirts are quite generous!

What distances are available?

At The MoonWalk, there are 2 challenges:

  1. A Full Marathon of 26.2 miles
  2. A Half Marathon of 13.1 miles

What are the age restrictions?

All walkers must be at least 13 years old on the night of the challenge.

Entering 13-17 year olds

Some points to be aware of

  • All walkers must be at least 13 years old on the night of the challenge.
  • An adult guardian must accompany any entrant aged between 13 and 17 years old for the duration of the challenge.
  • The guardian of the adolescent must enter into the challenge prior to the adolescent entering and for the same distance.
  • If you are entering the challenge online and are also entering an adolescent please ensure that you print or make a note of your "Registration ID" number on the entry processing page once you have completed the entry form – you will not be able to enter an adolescent without this number.
  • For schools or groups there must be a minimum ratio of 1 adult to 5 young people.
  • You can use your own credit card if you are entering a 13-17 year old. I.e. it does not have to be in their name.

I will be entering via Download/Store/SAE form - any tips?

  1. Delivering your form: apart from posting your entry form you can hand deliver or courier your  download entry forms to our office in Woking: details here
  2. Postage: don't forget to add the right amount of postage. If you send in an A4 envelope a single 1st class stamp is not enough. The minimum amount is 75p for 1st and 58p for 2nd
  3. Signing: it is very important that the entry form is signed by the person who is walking. Incomplete or unsigned forms will unfortunately, be returned and you may not receive a place in the event
  4. Downloading more than one application: you can download as many applications as you like, however each application must be completed by the person applying - Due to heath and safety requirements each person who enters must be responsible for filling out their own form.  Each person entering will be required to sign their entry form.
  5. Who should cheques be made payable to? All entry fee cheques should be made payable to ‘Walk the Walk in Action Ltd.’ Please ensure that you put the name and address of the corresponding entrant on the back of the cheque.
  6. Can I write a cheque on behalf of someone else? Yes, we don’t mind who the cheque is from, as long as the entry form has been completed and signed by the applicant.
  7. Can I send one cheque for more than one application? We ask that you send one cheque for each application form. Please put the applicant's name and address on the back of the cheque.
  8. Can I enter as a part of a team? All applications are treated as individual entries however many people like to have a team name to fundraise together or as a method of building morale and team bonding. We do not allocate places as per team names, all places are given in the order in which applications are received.  If you are entering as a team, it is advisable to put all entry forms in one envelope so that we receive them together and process them together - this way either you will all either be successful with your applications or not, depending on when we receive them.  Please include one cheque with each individual entry form.
  9. Can I register on behalf of someone else? No. Due to heath and safety requirements each person who enters must be responsible for filling out their own form.  Each person entering will be required to sign their entry form.

I have a disability - can I enter?

Disabled entrants are welcome to take part, although due to the nature of the event we ask you to contact us (+44 (0)1483 741430) prior to filling in the entry form as some disabilities may not find the event feasible. Please be aware of the following:

  1. If the disabled entrant is successful in obtaining a place in the event, and requires assistance from another person, (or people) the assist will be guaranteed a place.
  2. If the number of support people exceeds 1, additional guaranteed places will be at the discretion of Action.
  3. Please note that those people assisting a disabled entrant will be required to pay the entry fee, but will not be required to raise sponsorship if they do not wish to.
  4.  In certain cases it will be possible for Walk the Walk to allow a change in the support person or people. Any request for a change in personnel must be notified to Walk the Walk. Once the event entry list has been closed and passed to the emergency services prior to the event no changes to entrants will be permitted.
  5. Due to the nature of the event we are unable to specify a particular starting point within the start line ups. However all due considerations in respect of Health and Safety will be given

I have a food allergy what are the ingredients of the pasta or rice?

The contents of this year's meal have not yet been set but we do ensure that they are organic, clean and healthy: they will be listed on the night. These are the ingredients from last year:

PASTA: tomatoes, onions, green beans, mushroom, tomato puree, water, vege mince, sunflower oil, lemon juice, vegetable bouillon, corn starch, sea salt, sugar, garlic puree, basil, oregano, black pepper.

RICE: Brown rice, cauliflower, leeks, mushroom, carrots, sesame oil, soy sauce, sunflower oil, lemon juice, garlic puree, ginger puree, veg bouillon, sea salt, dried parsley, black pepper

Can men enter The MoonWalk?

Yes! Men can Walk the Walk too but they don't get away with not wearing a bra as The MoonWalk is all about raising awareness and wearing a bra to take on a challenge is the Walk the Walk trademark and one of the reasons we manage to raise so much awareness and money for our vital causes.

Can I register on behalf of someone else?

NO. Due to heath and safety requirements each person who enters must be responsible for filling out their own form.

Teams / Groups - all you need to know!

Entering

Walk the Walk treat will each entrant as an individual. Each individual must fill in their own application form.

We do not do block bookings, reservations or payments!

If you are entering as a team or group, each member must complete an application form. Please note, including a team name does not guarantee that all applications in the group will be successful, each place is given on a first come first served basis.

How do we start together?

Please ensure that you all enter the same estimated Finishing Time and exactly the same Team Name – by doing so you should* all get the same start time and therefore be able to walk together.

How do we start together if some of the team are doing the half and others the full marathon?

The best way to ensure that you start together is to pick the slowest starting time for each of the challenges whilst filling in the form. So that's 8+ for the Full and 5+ for Half. Also make sure you all insert the same Team name

Can I enter someone else who is part of my team?

NO. Due to heath and safety requirements each person who enters must be responsible for filling out their own form.

How does Walk the Walk treat Team names?

The only time that we make use of your Team name is when we are allocating starting groups. We do not use them for any other reason. E.g. if you send in your entry form after the rest of your team, we will not automatically associate your entry with their entry. You have to tell us the actual members of your team. If you do then we will do our best to ensure you start together. If you don't then.... we won't!

*We will do our best to ensure you start in the same group. But we can't promise it!

I entered online but all the places filled before my friend could enter – what should we do?

There are still other ways to apply to take part, try another option as each method of application has its own allocation of places.  However, places cannot be guaranteed for further team members; all applications will be treated on a first come first served basis so it is strongly advisable to enter as soon as possible to give the best chance of securing a place.

Please ensure that you all enter the same estimated Finishing Time and Exactly the same Team Name – by doing so you should all get the same start time and therefore be able to walk together.

I walked/volunteered before can I get priority?

NO. All places are given on a first come first served basis of how we receive application forms, there are no priority places. Due to the nature of The MoonWalk, we have very strict health and safety rules that we are bound by and unfortunately the event is restricted in number, hence we can not say yes to everybody, much as we would love to.

Can I enter over the phone, email or fax?

NO. All applications must be received with payment. We do not have credit card facilities to take entry fee payments in the office.

Does everyone who enters get a place?

Sadly, no.

  • Due to the nature of The MoonWalk we have very strict health and safety rules that we are bound by and unfortunately the event is restricted in number, hence we can not say yes to everybody as much as we would love to. Places are given in the strict order of how we receive entries on a first come first served basis
  • Also it is hard to believe but over the past few years, there have been a number of walkers who do not send us their fundraising when they have completed The MoonWalks in London and Edinburgh. As a result they are taking much wanted places but are not supporting the charity by raising any money. The aim of Walk the Walk is to unite against breast cancer and is dependent on everybody doing their bit no matter how small. Consequently we have taken the decision to give priority to walkers that have sent in their fundraising for past events and those that are joining Walk the Walk for the first time.

Can I hand deliver my Download/Store/SAE entry form?

Yes. Take a look at our contact details or see a map here of where we are . Please note our opening hours are Monday - Friday 9am to 5.30pm. Entries are treated in the order in which they arrive

If I don’t get a place can I hold my own MoonWalk?

NO. You can hold a walking event of your own to support Walk the Walk, but you can not hold an event called The MoonWalk as the concept and name are legally protected both in the UK and around the world. Call us on 01483 741430 and chat to us about what you want to do – we will be happy to send you out sponsor forms and give you advice!

I took part in a previous MoonWalk but did not raise any money - can I still enter?

Well...it's never too late to send it in!
