Do you belong to a fitness/aerobics/slimming group or class? How about gently persuading your instructor to lead an aerobathon/keep fit marthon. Invite your classmates, friends, work colleagues along to join in - for a small entry fee and invite them in turn to seek sponsorship for the length of time they can keep going. Everyone has fun and gets fitter too! Use part of the entry fee for refreshments then add the remainder to the sponsorship money and you should have a good total to go towards your fundraising goal.
Babysitting, cut lawns, walk dogs, clean windows, iron, painting and decorating, typing, cooking a meal, shopping - the list is endless!
Charge a set fee or sell individual items, how about bra shaped cakes? Foot shaped biscuits?
One persons rubbish is another’s treasure so sell all those things that you no longer need, be cheeky tell the other car booters what you are doing and get them to donate some of their goods and raise some valuable cash.
Get wrapped up and sit around a fire sipping hot mulled wine, eat baked potatoes and chestnuts and have a good old sing song or take it in turns to tell ghost stories, there’s some great books to help you out!
Enlist the help of a local wine expert and sample a number of different wines in an evening…. Make sure you sell tickets in advance.
Some enterprising ladies invited several stall holders, selling books (e.g Usborne), toys, jewellery, candles, cosmetics (e.g. Body Shop), cards (e.g Phoenix) etc to their local Young Family Group for a 'shopping day'. They had a morning and an afternoon session. Toys, books and films will be available to entertain the children while Mums shop, enjoyed a coffee and a chat. They did this before Xmas but it could work at any time of the year. Proceeds were split between the Group and WTW. So everyone benefits!
