Can you help?

We are bringing together the biggest and best Volunteer Team to date and we want you! Register to volunteer and you will become part of a team of thousands of extraordinary people, donating a little time (and giving up a little sleep) to support over 15,000 walkers and raise millions of pounds.

What will you be doing?

We have lots of different volunteer activities and we invite our volunteers to let us know their skills and what they would like to do to help.  We need marshals to guide and support the route, drivers to get the team around London, energetic cyclists for our specialist cycle teams, organised minds for our baggage tents, warm hearts for our finish line, skilled hands for our massage teams, backstage helpers to prepare our volunteer teams and bright characters to greet all those walkers and provide them with the food, water, and blankets they’ll need. This page has more information on some of our roles or why not watch the film below to find out more!

Ready to join in?

Then click here and fill in the form. This is just to register your interest in volunteering. We will be in touch in the New Year when you can apply to become a volunteer.

We had a prestigious spot to spend the night, virtually outside 'The Globe' theatre.  But boy did the icy north wind whip round that corner.  The adrenaline kept my colleague and I going when we saw the massive body of walkers coming towards us freezing in their bra's. Pub revellers joined in the cheering, we had some great crowds.  We also had a four body pile up when they tripped over a step, but all got up, dusted off and away they went. We had a block of luxury apartments behind us with an all night 'concierge' but  Instead of telling us to keep quiet, he ran in and out making hot coffee for us all night and then allowed us in to use the loo. We wouldn't have made it without him.

" An unsung hero!

Just a note to say what a great experience it was being a volunteer.  I think I ached nearly as much as when I walked - after shifting lots of water!

When the friend I was coming with was unable to come at the last minute I was nervous coming alone - but shouldn't have been!  I was amazed how many people came alone - especially those who hadn't walked in the past.  I was at the 4/25 mile water stop - what a great team they were - I would love to see them all again next year!!  When I was feeling a little jaded along came some fresh volunteers at 6am - special mention to the young girl who came alone - her first moonwalk experience and literally danced around offering fantastic encouragement to the walkers - she was a brilliant.

We laughed with many of the walkers - and most had smiles even at the end of their journeys - but a tear was never far away as occasionally I thought of why we were all there, my friends who have suffered and the thousands of people a year struck by breast cancer.  The sight of a man and his young son walking alone was one of the strongest images of the evening.  How fantastic that so many people can have so much fun and gain so much personal satisfaction whilst raising such unbelievable sums of money for such a brilliant cause.

I only have one small comment - which you have probably thought about many times - but might it be an idea to give team leaders a collection tin for passers by? London never seems to sleep and a few people did give us donations.

I think the whole event was the best organised I have ever helped at - well done team you really have it down to a tee!  It was great to see the organisation from the other side.

Hope you have all recovered!
