Tracey Conquers the Inca Trail Peru 2018

Now I have completed my Peru journey and reached Machu Picchu through the Sun Gate uniting against breast cancer. I can only say dream the dream, I did and I challenged myself to achieve a walkway to one of The 7 Wonders of The World.

Preparing for my next Walk the Walk Adventure was for me exciting, because of what I had agreed to do and now it was just around the corner!

Nerve racking... was I ready?

I have a cupboard that holds all my walking equipment, trousers, tops, hoodies, buff, gloves, my favourite socks, bumbag, t-shirts and of course The Bra.

Had I done enough training?

I knew I had! I’d followed the schedule in between work and family, anxious. Meeting new people, who was I sharing a tent with on this adventure? Turned out, as usual, it was great. What was I worried about?

I had decided to take part in another challenge with WTW, because they are so well organised, I have met amazing people on every adventure which makes and keeps me wanting more! I started with The MoonWalk London, then onto The MoonWalk Iceland. Whilst I was in Iceland people had achieved the Three Land Challenge and so the next year I went for that! It was amazing!

Next up was Peru this year. Magic, phenomenal and a fantastic experience. I was travelling home on the train, having the blues, missing my new buddy’s already and thought I’d just have a look at my next adventure. So I booked the Dublin Marathon in October this year to keep my fitness up, raise more awareness and catch up and meet more fantastic people.

My 2 Chocolate Labradors loved my training for Peru, it was the kick I needed to start to get fit again! Once I’d worked out mornings were better for me; small, power or long walks all added up to getting stronger and fitter. I made sure I put the training into building up and get fitter and stronger.

My biggest fundraising event was I’m a Celebrity Get Me Out of Here! 12 contestants eat and drink crazy outrageous things (bugs, brain, a raw egg in milk and orange juice to name a few). Contestants had their own supporters to put them through to the next round. Each round after the contestants eat something disgusting, supporters put money in their buckets in front of them. You then count the money after each round and the least amount of money in a contestant’s bucket gets eliminated.

It is such a great night and raised £1,200… fun, entertaining and most of all supporting and bringing people together.

I’m getting older but I’m getting fitter also, see it’s a win-win for everybody these WTW challenges.

Now I have completed my Peru journey and reached Machu Picchu through the Sun Gate.
I can only say dream the dream, I did and I challenged myself to achieve a walkway to one of The 7 Wonders of The World.

It was Phenomenal!
